The Saffron Walden Arts Trust would like to welcome you to the Saffron Walden Open Studio Guide for June 2011. This year, 23 artists in Saffron Walden and surrounding villages will open their studios and work spaces to visitors, giving you the opportunity to meet the artists, discuss their work and gain an insight into the creative impetus for these uniquely talented individuals. We would like to thank our artists for taking part and giving of their time in order to share insights into the creative process. As a frequent visitor to Open Studio events I have come to appreciate the excellence and hard work that goes into the creation of a unique object and the satisfaction that it brings to both the artist and the viewer. The invitation is extended to all, so come and enjoy two weekends of stimulating artistic diversion in this beautiful corner of Essex. Saffron Walden & Little Walden |

I attempt to capture a moment in time, an image the viewer can relate a feeling or emotion to as opposed to a 'scene' in the traditional sense. I am fascinated by the most basic requirement of photography which is natural light and how it can create both a sense of calm and tranquility or passion and spirit.
