The Arts Trust is delighted to present its second Arts Festival for Saffron Walden. This year we have a wider range of concerts, plays, street performances and workshops for all the community to enjoy. The festival is a truly collaborative community project, and events are free of charge except where indicated.

During the day on Saturday there will be a range of music and dance performances in King Street, Market Square and Jubilee Gardens. In addition, local architects will have an exhibition of their work in the Town Hall.

Sunday will be a family day. On the Common there will be music and a range workshops based around a series of marquees. So bring a picnic and make a day of it ! But don’t forget there will be a workshop from the Walden Writers in the library, and the second day of the architects display in the Town Hall.

Evening attractions include two plays, one by The Pantaloons and the other by the Saffron Players, and a summer prom by the Saffron Walden Choral Society. Saffron Walden’s Got Talent promises to be an outstanding evening of family entertainment by talented local acts, indomitable judges and a cheeky compere. The Charleston Chasers, a nationally acclaimed, ten piece band, will play the very best in hot, toe tapping vintage music from the 20s and 30s and Saffron Screen will have two screenings of La Danse, about the Paris Opera Ballet.

So make a weekend of it and bring the family as there's something for all ages to discover and celebrate!

Saffron Walden's Got Talent

Have you always dreamed of stardom? Well, Saffron Walden's Got Talent hits town on Saturday 12th June! With its very own panel of local celebrity judges, this looks set to be an uproarious night of fun. We have a evening packed with local acts of all ages performing in the Festival marquee on the Common. Tickets are on sale at the Tourist Information Centre.

Charleston Chasers

Nationally acclaimed band, the Charleston Chasers, play hot, foot tapping music from the Arts Deco era. Enjoy their irresistible rhythms on Sunday 13th June in our special Festival marquee on the Common. Tickets available now from the Tourist Information Centre. Book soon as tickets for the Chasers always sell out.

Open Studio

Visit over twenty local artists in the Saffron Walden area over the weekend of the 19th and 20th June. A chance to see the artists at work in their own studios and perhaps buy an unique piece of art. Click here to visit the website

Skate Jam

Saffron Walden's One Minet Skatepark will be holding it's summer Jam during on Sunday 13th June. There will be music, BBQ, professional tuition, competitions and prizes. It promises to be a great event for skateboards and spectators alike.
