Blue Harlem

For more than 10 years Blue Harlem have been regarded as one of top swing come jump-blues bands on the London scene. They have become regular favourites at venues such as the world-famous 100 Club, Ronnie Scott’s Club and Boisdale’s. They also appear regularly at venues all across the UK from ‘The Sands’ Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, to Burgh Island, Devon. They have an enviable reputation as a party band, having played for society soirees all over the UK - including Buckingham Palace, Annabel’s, and Meikleour Castle, Perthshire. In December 2008 they were invited by Baz Luhrman to perform for the launch of his new 1940s blockbuster movie “Australia”. They have also been invited on 3 separate occasions to perform at Highgrove House charity balls for the ‘Prince’s Trust’.

Blue Harlem launched the career of rising star Imelda May, and are now proud to feature as their vocalist the sensational Sophie Shaw.

Blue Harlem also regularly perform abroad: one of the highlights of the past 3 summers being sell-out tours of Spanish Festivals. December 2007 found them launching the 4th International Film Festival of Dubai. They have also played for the European Film Festival in Dresden, as well as jazz festivals in Molde (Norway), Liege (Belgium), Ghent (Belgium) and Waldorf (Germany).
